April 2009 and May 2009, Special Edition on “Universal Design at San Francisco State University,” Published on Newsletter of Design for All Institute of India. This two-month special issue was coordinated and edited by Prof. Ricardo Gomes, through the Design Center for Global Needs in the Department of Design and Industry.”
Established in 2004, Design for All Institute of India is a non-profit organization especially for the promotion of universal design. A long-term partner of Design for All Europe (EIDD), it publishes a monthly newsletter on the internet with the intention to educate individuals and influence public policy so that environments, products, services, and interfaced are designed to meet the needs of people of all ages and with different capabilities.
In the April, 2009 and May, 2009 issues of the Newsletter of Design for All Institute of India, featured Universal Design research, curriculum development, projects and policies since 1991 to the present at San Francisco State University. This two-month special issue was coordinated and edited by Prof. Ricardo Gomes, through the Design Center for Global Needs in the Department of Design and Industry. In past issues, renowned design organizations as Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), Design for All Europe (EIDD), International Association for Universal Design (IAUD), Norway Design Council and the Helen Hamlyn Research Institute at the Royal College of Art, London, the Centre of Universal Design, North Carolina State University, have been featured in the international online Newsletter publications of the Design for All Institute of India.
