Pino TroguPino Trogu is an Assistant Professor of Information Design at San Francisco State University. He grew up on the island of Sardinia, Italy, where his father, who was a mason, taught him how to lay bricks in a straight line.

He earned his B.F.A. from the Istituto Superiore Industrie Artistiche in Urbino, Italy, and his M.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, R.I., which he attended on a Fulbright scholarship. He has taught all levels of students, from foundation classes to graduate seminars, first at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, and more recently at San Jose State University. Both in his professional work as well as in his teaching, his specialty is being a generalist, with projects ranging from museum exhibits to web design and film, from letterpress printing and bookbinding to environmental graphics and information design.
