The DAI department offers students the opportunity to build skills and competency in design thinking and practice within the scope of their undergraduate education. Our graduates find promising careers in design, marketing, printing and publishing, manufacturing, merchandising, sales, education, and a range of other industries where their interdisciplinary problem-solving skills are a valuable asset. Our curriculum balances research and theory with the application and practice of design in the real world context.
In addition, our department offers opportunities for community service and outreach through such programs as IDO, FITS, and membership in our IDSA student chapter. We have well-established exchange programs where our students can spend a year studying at international universities including Brunel, NABA, and London Metropolitan University. For more on these exchange programs, please visit the Office of International Programs.
Our faculty come from a broad range of backgrounds and bring their experiences in both industry and academia to the classroom. Personal advising and continuous faculty/student contact throughout the educational process makes for a strong and supportive learning environment.
