The choice of a major is a difficult one for many students. DAI accepts students from all types of backgrounds with differing sets of interests. Some of the characteristics of our successful students are: practicality combined with creativity, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to think conceptually, good sketching and fabrication skills, flexibility across different modes of thinking, ability to grasp and implement technical ideas, aesthetic sensitivity, understanding of the business context of design, self-motivation, good work habits, and the ability to work well both alone and in groups. Strong research, writing, and communications skills are also essential to all of our courses.
How do I know if I should be a DAI major?
