San Francisco State Students Finalists in Stanford Design Challenge

Two SFSU, School of Design teams are announced as finalists for the Stanford Design Challenge. Their work represent the inclusive design innovation generated in our program relative to Design Across the Lifespan, Aging in Place and our longevity well-being initiative. These two exceptional teams were in the finalist group of 8 teams selected out of almost 80 applicants.
· “Grow and Gather” – Seira Yasumatsu, San Francisco State University – A portable workbench and rest device that helps to facilitate community gardening for all ages and abilities, promoting social engagement for a happier and healthier lifestyle.
· “Seven Bridges” – Jason Appler, Crystal Choi, Cassondra Hegyes, Yutao Lim, Jeannie Llewellyn San Francisco State University – A platform connecting youth volunteers to seniors via mutual interests and providing help with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s)
