Graphic Artist

A game publisher located in Berkeley , CA is looking
for a Graphic Artist to add to our talented team.

Job Summary

The Graphic Designer will assist in the production of both games and marketing materials. This includes the entire process from acquisition and management of art assets through delivery to the printer. This job also includes a small amount of support for online efforts.

The Graphic Designer will work on several cross functional teams.

Essential Job Functions

Acquires art assets for graphic design projects
Works with designers, Art Director, and Marketing
Department to realize the vision for the projects
Works in Photoshop for preparation for use in InDesign

Creates graphical layout and treatments for design
projects primarily in InDesign
Maintains a clear files system on the server so that
art assets may be found by anyone in the company
Creates printer specified layouts and files for all
projects going to the printer or vendor
Communicates with printers and vendors to ensure
accurate and on time delivery of projects
Meticulously screens proofs from printers to catch any
errors in printing
Creates original supporting works of art and icons
Supports web site and online image efforts
Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

2-4 years of relevant commercial design experience.
Mastery of the Adobe InDesign layout toolset
Experience with Vector drawing in Illustrator
Fluency with Photoshop in all parts of the application


Comfortable working in a windows and MS office
environment
Experience with color matching and color correction
for print
Understanding of Typography and layout for high impact
design
Understanding of the digital work environment
Attention to detail and high quality work ethic
Excellent team player
Ability to juggle several projects at once
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
in English
Proficiency in a second language preferred but not
required
Photography and Lighting skills preferred but not
required
Fine art skills including drawing and painting
preferred but not required
Interest in Card, Board, Miniatures and Digital Games
preferred but not required

$30,000- $37,000 annually based on experience

The applicant must be able to work in the main office located in Berkeley , CA . Not telecommuting is available. No relocation is available for this position.
