iDo Founding Director Martin Linder to Receive Award for Community Service Learning.
SAN FRANCISCO, California-April 2, 2009 Industrial Design Outreach (iDo) announced today that the Institute for Civic and Community Engagement (ICCE) has selected iDo Founding Director Martin Linder for the San Francisco State University faculty award for Community Service Learning (CSL). Linder has established himself as a true innovator of CSL through his work with iDo projects that run free-of-charge in San Francisco public schools.

Brian Chiu (DAI Student) Winner of the City Youth Logo Contest
Brian Chiu, a senior majoring in Design and Industry at San Francisco State University, was selected as the winner of the San Francisco City Identification Card youth logo contest. On Tuesday, November 18, 2008, Supervisor Tom Ammiano commended Brian for his talents at the Board of Supervisor's meeting.

The Industrial Design Society of America publication: Design Perspectives, September October 2008 issue, has published a feature article on DAI faculty member Martin Linder.
The article highlights Professor Linders award of the SFSU Sarlo Distinguished Teaching Award, and celebrates his work with the TROI, FITS and iDo institutes. Pictures of the iDo Community Bench Project are prominently displayed in the article.
The SF State Recyclemania ‘09 Poster Challenge will give students and faculty members the opportunity to create appealing posters to promote one of the three topics: Recycling, Waste Reduction, and Sustainability.
