The Design Center for Global Needs/Shapira Design Archive in the DAI Department invites you to attend, a Lecture and Symposia on "China: Consumption of the Design Revolution", Wed, Oct. 29th, 6—8:30 p.m., FA 151, Graduate Studio Space.

Prof. Yue Qiu, Associate Dean & Professor, School of Design & Fine Arts, Beijing Institute of Technology, a 2014-2015 SF State Visiting Scholar, will present his research and studies at BIT, as well as his scholarly research objectives at SF State.

Wai-Loong Lim,Founder at Y Studios LLC and Lisa Yong,Socio-Cultural Intelligence, Y Studios LLC will present the "Y-Studio" mission, goals, clients, case study projects that may highlight, or feature relationship of works to China, or the Asia Market; Services; Business Dynamic/Rationale

LiAnne Yu, Ph.D., User Experience and Consumer Insights at Freelance, Consumption in China: How China's New Consumer Ideology is Shaping the Nation.
Dr. Yu will speak about how the book is written from the perspective of China's emerging middle class, and explores topics such as tech use, fashion, international travel, and emerging forms of identity
