Real Industry Creative Technology Challenge

in partnership with the CSU Entertainment Alliance

Join leaders in the VR & AR space.
Learn how to create compelling content that tells a story.
We want to empower you to explore a topic or issue experienced near your campus or in your city. Participants in the challenge will create an AR or VR experience that narrates what’s going on in a documentary style. You can think as big as climate change and its effects in your area or as narrow as an issue in a smaller community of which you are a part. We’re going to use alternate realities to increase empathy and bring viewers closer to the epicenter.

At the kickoff event, we will provide you with all the tools needed to tackle the project over the following three weeks. You can expect to learn how to use VR & AR to change the way you share experiences and tell stories.
All teams will have the opportunity for mentorship and feedback sessions with mentors from: Avid, Adobe, Dolby, Pandora, Facebook, and more!

Over $1000 dollars in prizes awarded to winning teams!
Special guests include:
  • “Storytelling with Sound” with Roy Waldspurger, Supervising Sound Editor / Re-Recording Mixer, Skywalker Sound
  • Kevin May, Senior Designer - Immersive Products & Experiences, Formerly: Jaunt XR, Industrial Light & Magic, Sony Pictures Imageworks
  • Brian Williams, Immersive Media Lead, Adobe Professional Video Products Group
