Assistant Professor Fernando Carvalho discusses design education in the 21st century at the 2021 IDSA International Design Conference

In an essay focused on critical design, mass-production, plannned obsolescence, susatainability, and the anthropoce, Assistant Professor of Industrial Design Fernando Carvalho discusses the human's influence on the current state of the planet, and the ways in which design has contributed to aggravate the environmental and human crisis. Prof. Carvalho presented this work, titled "Designing on the Edge of Civilization" in  the 2021 International Conference of the Industrial Design Society of America.
