Associate Professor Hsiao-Yun Chu has been awarded a short term research grant from the New York Public Library. This will support her research on the history of women's industrial design schools in the United States during the period 1880-1914. Prof. Chu's project aims to show that women were actively involved in the industrial design profession much earlier than has been generally recognized in the design historical literature. Congratulations, Prof. Chu!
