DES Prof. Wioleta Kaminska to head to Iceland to work on time-based media projects in 2020.

School of Design Adjunct Professor Wioleta Kaminska has been selected an artist in residence at the SIM Residency in Reykjavik for the month of June, 2020 and an artist in residence at the GILFÉLAGIÐ Residency in Akureyri for July 2020. During her 2-month stay in Iceland, Prof. Kaminska will be conducting research and exploring the unique sites both residencies are located on. Consequently, using time-based media she will recreate a space, or rather capture those moments that intrigue and encourage a viewer to find some time for contemplation and reflection; an opportunity to slow down and experience, even if for a second, the whole world stopping in front of our very own eyes.
