Advising Checklist

Please bring the following to your first advising appointment:

  • Your SF State Unofficial Transcript (available in your Gateway Student Center)
  • Your Unofficial Transcripts from your other college (if you are a transfer student)
  • Course Description, syllabus, and digital samples of work completed in the course you are looking to substitute
  • Blank advising contract

If you have received permission to substitute a class for a DES requirement or elective from your advisor and you don't see that class on your Degree Progress Report, please make an appointment with your advisor to ensure your DPR is updated. This is how we make sure the Registrar's office has a record of the substitution.
