Sharing Our Maps: Navigating Identity, Belonging, and Discrimination in the Design Field
April 24th from 11:50 am - 12:50 pm, FA 119
This event launches a new SFSU School of Design series on navigating a range of “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (DEI) issues in being BIPOC and Inclusive in the Design career development pathway & workplace. We welcome Alumni, Students and faculty attendees, and participants in sharing your storytelling ventures, LIFE transitions, and experiences. How did you navigate the career workplace in establishing your identity, diversity, and representation in a conscientious and inclusive sense of empowerment. The goal of this series is to “Design a Difference” and create an inclusive work ethic for all to appreciate, benefit, celebrate, and value. (This event is being coordinated by Prof. Joshua McVeigh-Schultz in conjunction with The School of Design Portfolio Night on Tuesday, April 23.)
