Assistant Professor Christensen and Associate Professor van Kampen presented about community-building in and beyond the design classroom at the AMPS 2023 Teaching Beyond the Curriculum conference

Assistant Professor Christensen and Associate Professor van Kampen presented together at the AMPS Architecture Media Politics Society Teaching Beyond the Curriculum Education Conference 2023. The conference took place Nov. 15–17 as part of the Focus on Pedagogy 2023 series, with proceedings taking place in the UK, China, and virtually. 

Christensen and van Kampen shared their work in building communities of learners in four domains: within the classroom, throughout the department, throughout the university through interdisciplinary partnerships, and beyond the university with community partnerships. The presentation applied the learning theories of Connectivism and Social Constructivist Learning to design education in and beyond the classroom.
