Joshua Wilder Oakley, a multimedia artist and educator based in Los Angeles, explores the interplay between human experiences, social justice, and the environment in his work. His art draws from personal encounters with oppressive systems, including his time in the Army during the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell era and navigating life as a disabled man in an able-bodied world. Oakley, who graduated cum laude with a BA in Design from the University of San Francisco, believes in the ethical duty of artists to address crucial societal and environmental concerns. His diverse portfolio, encompassing photography, design, and fine art, has garnered recognition in juried exhibitions across the nation.
